With nearly two decades of industry experience, the company has delivered a wide range of projects worldwide, including service and maintenance contracts, commissioning, installation, inspections, energy audits, and project supervision.
Role Description
This full-time HVAC Design Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Taunton, with flexibility for some work from home. The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing HVAC systems for marine and offshore applications
- Preparing detailed calculations
- Developing technical drawings and specifications
- Collaborating with project managers and engineers
- Evaluating client requirements
- Selecting appropriate equipment
- Ensuring designs meet safety, regulatory, and energy-efficiency standards
- Supporting installation and commissioning teams
- Providing technical guidance
- Resolving design-related issues during project execution

The HVAC Design Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and may assist with technical documentation and training materials.

Qualifications
- Strong HVAC Design and HVAC system engineering, including layout, sizing, and equipment selection
- Solidworks and Mechanical Engineering skills to perform load calculations and validate design performance
- Water system design skills for integrating chilled water, condensate, and other related services
- Relevant degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with marine or oil and gas HVAC/R projects, and familiarity with applicable standards and regulations, is highly beneficial but not essential
- Proficiency with CAD or BIM tools for HVAC design, and solid understanding of energy efficiency and ventilation principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites and support installation, commissioning, and inspection activities as required
