KURY UK Ltd is part of an international company, Kury Groupe, 100% dedicated to the nuclear field and created 22 years ago.

Since then, we have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer). We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.
We are now looking for engineers to join our Team in the UK. Our human-sized structure (100 employees worldwide) allows us to devote ourselves to mentoring and training our engineers. We take special care of our employees’ development by ensuring them quality projects through which they will increase their skills.

SUITABLE CANDIDATE

You enjoy analysing concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up.
Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects involving very demanding precautions as regards industrial safety captivates you.
Your good analytical skills, sense of logic, aptitude for synthesising, and your scientific knowledge will allow you to adapt quickly to multi-system environments.
You have the ability to adapt to new technical problems. You know how to manage a small-sized team.

THE ROLE

As an HVAC Engineer, you will be in charge of the following activities:

  • Technically overseeing the HVAC equipment contract part of the project with a specific focus on equipment follow-up, in close collaboration with the layout and HVAC system teams, the contractor, as well as with the client.
  • Carrying out the surveillance of detailed studies provided by the Contractor relating to the Control & Instrumentation documentation.
  • Carrying out the surveillance of detailed studies provided by the Contractor and associated manufacturing (surveillance of drawings, procurement specifications, manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, and testing procedures).
  • Serving as the representative of the Responsible Designer HVAC contract team in various meetings with the client and the supplier.
  • Reporting on the progress of equipment technical open points during fortnightly dedicated meetings with the contractor and the client.
  • Monitoring contractor's deliverables related to handover activities (Seismic calculation notes, HVAC Release Report, and HVAC database).
  • Tracking the key milestones for building handovers.
  • Coordinating and conducting technical assessments of the Contractor requests as Non-Conformance Report, Exemption Requests, Technical Queries.
  • Coordinating and conducting technical assessments of the impacts of Contractor Change Requests.
  • Managing the processing of modifications, including monitoring progress, using performance indicators, and generating reports when needed.
  • Updating the HVAC database and managing CTS (Change Transfer Sheet) issue to the client according to the schedule.

During the first months, you can count on the KURY Team to assist you all along your projects.
This experience will give you the opportunity to move on to other projects in the medium term: you will tackle varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics. Your understanding of the technical and environmental challenges will allow you to take on complex and critical transversal studies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge and experience of Control & Instrumentation activities in a nuclear context.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment sizing (AHU, fans, filters, water coils).
  • HVAC knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor system design principles.
  • Knowledge of UK licensing requirements for a nuclear reactor.
  • Knowledge and experience of PDMS, E3D, Navisworks.
  • Experience working on an EPR project, operating plant or on an industrial site.
  • Experience in project configuration management.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload in order to respect deadlines and KPI.
  • Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous tasks with other stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and to deal with different stakeholders, confident in communicating within an international environment and proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Knowledge of nuclear safety classification.
  • Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and their application.
  • French-speaking and reading would be an advantage.
