Job Title: HVAC Engineer
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Herefordshire
Salary: Hoople Band E £37,932 - £47,816 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Hoople Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our Building Maintenance Team in Herefordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled building services engineer looking for a varied role covering planned and reactive maintenance within a professional and supportive environment.
Working across a diverse range of commercial properties within Herefordshire — including, offices, museums, libraries and shopping centre you will maintain and fault find heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, chilled water systems, fan coil units and associated mechanical plant, helping to keep facilities safe, comfortable, compliant and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on HVAC and associated mechanical building services.
- Diagnose and repair faults on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, fans, controls and associated plant.
- Complete inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance in line with schedules and manufacturers’ guidance.
- Ensure work complies with health & safety requirements, relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Respond promptly to HVAC/mechanical plant breakdowns and emergency call-outs.

Essential Requirements:
- F-Gas Category 1 certification where refrigerant handling forms part of the role
- Relevant Level 2 qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience in HVAC/mechanical building-services maintenance (public sector or facilities-management experience desirable)
- Good knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, fault finding and safe working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, approachable manner with strong customer-facing skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Gas Safe registration or relevant gas qualifications where gas-fired plant is maintained; additional electrical or controls experience is also advantageous
