Company Description

Principal HVAC is a specialist provider of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning solutions for both commercial and residential properties. The company delivers systems for high-profile developments across the UK and Ireland, including luxury hotels, hospitals, and schools. In addition to new installations, Principal HVAC offers comprehensive servicing to keep existing systems efficient and reliable.

A dedicated team of CAD designers works closely with estimators to ensure each project proposal balances optimal installation, performance, and value for money. The team-oriented environment emphasizes technical excellence, customer service, and long-term client relationships.

Role Description

The HVAC Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role is responsible for managing HVAC projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating resources across design, installation, and commissioning activities.

The HVAC Project Manager will work closely with CAD designers, estimators, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Daily tasks include:

The role also involves stakeholder communication, preparing progress reports, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations, and supporting continuous improvement in project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination for construction or MEP/HVAC projects.
  • Experience with expediting and expeditor functions, including tracking orders, managing supplier performance, and resolving delivery issues to meet project timelines.
  • Proficiency in logistics management and related coordination activities, ensuring timely movement, storage, and delivery of equipment and materials to site.
  • Background in inspection and quality control, with the ability to review installations, verify compliance with specifications, and document findings.
  • Practical knowledge of HVAC systems, building services, and relevant UK building regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management and office software; familiarity with CAD-based workflows is an advantage.
  • Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in HVAC project delivery.
  • Previous experience in a project management role within HVAC, MEP, or building services contracting is highly beneficial.
