HVAC/R Technician – Naval & Marine Systems
Location: Basildon, Essex

About the role
We’re seeking an HVAC/R Technician with around 1–2 years post-apprenticeship experience and a valid F-Gas certificate to support commissioning and FAT activities for naval HVAC/R systems. This role is predominantly based in our Basildon workshop, with travel to UK naval sites and occasional international assignments. You’ll have the opportunity to upskill in naval equipment and develop your career in a supportive, hands-on team.

What you’ll do
- Commissioning of ATUs, Chillers, and HVAC systems in the test bay and when required, on customer sites
- Electrical/mechanical hookups, calibration, and functional testing
- FAT testing and system integration activities
- Ensure F-Gas compliance (leak checks, recovery, documentation)
- Help diagnose issues and contribute to root-cause analysis; produce test reports
- Maintain test equipment and travel for on-site support

What you’ll bring
- Valid F-Gas Certification (Cat I or II)
- 1–2 years post-apprenticeship HVAC/R experience
- Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude; able to read schematics/drawings
- Willing to travel UK/internationally; valid driving licence
- Eligible for UK BPSS and SC clearances (or ability to obtain)
Desirable
- Naval/marine experience
- PLC/microcontroller knowledge or HVAC control systems
