Independent Prescribing Nurse – Hybrid (Remote & In-Store)

Permanent | 3 days remote with Boots Online Doctor & 2 days in a Boots Healthcare Centre

The role includes working every other weekend as part of your contracted working pattern.

Ready to use your prescribing skills in a new way?

We’re looking for experienced Independent Prescribers to join us in an exciting permanent hybrid role, bringing together digital healthcare and face-to-face clinical care. This opportunity is open to both Independent Prescribing Nurses and Independent Prescribing Pharmacists.

You’ll spend three days each week working remotely with Boots Online Doctor (BOD), delivering digital consultations and clinical care to patients, and two days in one of our selected Boots Healthcare Centres, providing face-to-face clinical services and using your Independent Prescribing qualification in practice.

It’s an opportunity to combine the flexibility and innovation of digital healthcare with the patient interaction and clinical impact of working in a Healthcare Centre, while helping us develop accessible, high-quality healthcare services across Boots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality remote consultations, clinical assessments and reviews through Boots Online Doctor.
  • Make evidence-based prescribing decisions within your professional scope of practice and in line with relevant clinical guidance and service protocols.
  • Provide appropriate treatment, advice, safety-netting and onward referral, escalating where clinically appropriate.
  • Deliver face-to-face clinical services within a Boots Healthcare Centre.
  • Assess, treat and support patients using your Independent Prescribing qualification.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to clinical risk and safeguarding concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with Pharmacists, Nurses, Prescribers and wider multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver a seamless patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and professional practice.
  • Take part in clinical meetings, supervision, audit, training and service updates as required.
  • Contribute to continuous service development, innovation and improvements to the patient experience.
  • Support service requirements, including appropriate triage, patient or healthcare professional queries and prescription requests where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
