Ogre Engineering Limited is a leading provider of hydraulic and mechanical services, specializing in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of bespoke equipment, including full refurbishment of all kinds of existing hydraulic / mechanical equipment used in all industries from Oil & Gas, Renewables (Hydrogen), Fishing, Forestry, and commercial. We are a certified distributor for Balflex hydraulic products and operate from our specialized facility in Laurencekirk providing hydraulic hose, inserts, adaptors, seals, and gauges to name a few.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a motivated Hydraulic / Mechanical Technician to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for the preparation, testing, and maintenance of industrial equipment for the oil & gas, marine, and forestry sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct scheduled servicing, troubleshooting, and full refurbishment of mechanical and hydraulic systems, including torque units / bucking machines.
- Assembly & Testing: Manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies and perform certified pressure testing to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
- Technical Support: Perform on-site inspections, calibrations, and provide technical assistance to customers, occasionally traveling within the UK or overseas.
- Documentation: Accurately complete maintenance reports and documentation for all activities.
- Workshop Operations: Book in and visually check equipment returning from hire, ensuring all workshop procedures are followed.

- Technical Experience: Essential experience working with mechanical machinery; specific knowledge of hydraulic systems, hoses, and fittings is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to read technical drawings or schematics.
- Licensing: A full clean driving license is required for on-site service calls.
- Mindset: A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Advantageous: Experience in welding and fabrication is a significant plus.
