Job Opportunity
We are excited to welcome a talented Hydraulic Modelling Technician to join our well-established Hydraulic Modelling team in Leicester. Our Water Civil Engineering team are based out of our Leicester office, and you’ll be surrounded by highly experienced colleagues to grow your skills and contribute to meaningful projects.
This opportunity provides the perfect starting point for the right candidate interested in developing a career in hydraulic modelling and catchment management. We offer a hybrid working pattern with three days in the office and two days working from home on a weekly basis.
Your Role
You'll provide support to the Hydraulic Modelling Team in the development of computer-based hydraulic models, data analysis and the production of documentation and report outputs to be used to mitigate flooding pollution and service performance issues from urban drainage systems, as well as supporting the identification of client capital investment needs. Our key clients include Severn Trent, United Utilities and clients within both private and public sectors.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Preparation, management and analysis of GIS data
- Support the operation and enhancement of hydraulic models
- Support the production of technical reports and outputs
- Liaising with clients and suppliers as required
- Understanding and compliance with Health and Safety requirements, practices and procedures

Ideal Candidate
Our ideal Hydraulic Modelling Technician will have:
- Experience in the operation and use of GIS data
- A keen interest in urban drainage and catchment management with skills developed in hydraulic modelling
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment
- An interest in building client relationships and developing new opportunities
- Ability to demonstrate a clear commitment to improving and extending technical knowledge
