Position: Hydraulics Tester

Location: Gloucester

Type of work: Permanent

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Hours of work: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday between 7:00 am and 05:00 pm

We are now seeking to recruit a Hydraulics Tester to work for a manufacturing company based in Gloucester. The appropriate candidate will be responsible for the testing, inspection, and validation of hydraulic and pneumatic products, ensuring all assemblies meet strict quality, safety, and performance standards required for critical engineering applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, and associated systems to defined specifications and procedures
  • Carry out pressure, functional, and performance testing to ensure reliability in demanding applications
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections and quality checks throughout the testing process
  • Accurately record and report test data, non-conformances, and results
  • Diagnose faults and work closely with assembly, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure testing equipment is correctly maintained, calibrated, and used safely
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and testing efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with ISO quality standards and company health & safety procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or production test environment (hydraulics/pneumatics preferred)
  • Understanding of hydraulic or mechanical systems and testing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Basic IT skills for recording and reporting data
