Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer
As a Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and validation of gaseous and liquid hydrogen fuel systems for next-generation aircraft. Working across system architecture, requirements management, aircraft integration, safety analysis, testing, and certification activities, you will be responsible for delivering robust hydrogen storage, distribution, and conditioning solutions that meet demanding performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and certification stakeholders, you will drive technical development from concept through to flight-ready implementation, ensuring safe and efficient operation while helping to advance commercially viable hydrogen-electric aviation.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of gaseous and liquid hydrogen fuel systems, including storage, distribution, conditioning, and aircraft integration.
- Define and manage system and component requirements, ensuring robust architecture, interfaces, and packaging solutions for onboard hydrogen systems.
- Drive supplier selection, development, and technical oversight, ensuring component performance, quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Plan and execute verification, validation, testing, and safety assessment activities, including FMEA, FHA, FTA, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness by supporting certification activities, hazardous area requirements, and management of hydrogen refuelling and test facilities.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with experience in hydrogen, gas, or cryogenic systems.
- Proven experience designing, integrating, and validating gaseous and liquid hydrogen fuel systems in high-pressure environments.
- Strong capability in system sizing, modelling, performance analysis, and validation using engineering and simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid and gas dynamics, system safety, and reliability methodologies such as FHA, FMEA/FMECA, and FTA.
- Hands-on experience with hydrogen and cryogenic system testing, coupled with a strong understanding of safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.
