Night Shift Hygiene Manager | Jarrow, Tyne & Wear
Libra Seafoods, part of the Landauer Group, is a leading seafood manufacturer supplying high-quality own-label and branded products to retail and wholesale customers across the UK. With quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction at the heart of everything we do, we are seeking an experienced Night Shift Hygiene Manager to lead our hygiene function and ensure the highest standards are maintained across our manufacturing operation.
The Opportunity
This is a key leadership role within our production facility, responsible for managing all hygiene activities during the night shift. You will lead and develop the hygiene team, ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
Working closely with Production, Technical, Engineering, and Quality teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring our factory is audit-ready, operationally efficient, and maintained to the highest hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all hygiene activities across production, processing, and storage areas during night operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, HACCP requirements, retailer standards, and company policies.
- Manage, motivate, train, and develop the site hygiene team.
- Conduct hygiene inspections, audits, verification checks, and environmental monitoring activities.
- Maintain accurate hygiene records and documentation to support customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
- Investigate hygiene-related issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Technical, Quality, and Engineering teams to support site performance and food safety objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hygiene standards, efficiency, and compliance.
- Promote a strong food safety and health & safety culture throughout the business.

About You
- Proven experience in a Hygiene Manager, Hygiene Supervisor, or Hygiene Team Leader position within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety systems, hygiene standards, and audit requirements.
- Experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computerised reporting systems.
- Relevant Food Safety, HACCP, Environmental Health, or similar qualifications would be advantageous.
