39 hours per week - Salary £35,571.12 / £17.54 per hour

What your key responsibilities are as Hygiene Manager:
- Work in partnership with operational colleagues to identify hygiene capability gaps, cleaning deficiencies, and compliance needs.
- Deliver engaging hygiene briefings, chemical handling workshops, and deep-clean standard training across the business.
- Support production supervisors in developing confidence, capability, and accountability for hygiene performance within their teams.
- Design and develop practical cleaning instruction cards, visual hygiene guides, and digital safety content.
- Support the delivery, execution, and continuous improvement of site environmental monitoring and sanitation programmes.
- Deliver blended hygiene solutions through face-to-face coaching, toolbox talks, and practical assessments.
- Reinforce hygiene compliance through follow-up audits, inspections, and on-the-floor practical support.
- Support the implementation and embedding of structured food safety and allergen control programmes within manufacturing environments.
- Observe practical sanitation competence, chemical dosing, and equipment strip-downs to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
- Support shift managers to embed daily hygiene routines into production schedules and drive permanent behaviour change regarding food safety.
- Monitor cleaning verification data (e.g., ATP swabbing, micro testing) and support evaluation of overall hygiene effectiveness.
- Support hygiene and deep-clean requirements relating to new production equipment, machinery, layout changes, and technical initiatives across the Bakery operation.
- Contribute to Technical, Health & Safety, and major continuous improvement projects.
- Promote consistency, root-cause analysis, and best practice across all cleaning, sanitation, and waste management activities.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Production, Quality, Engineering, Retail, and the People functions.

Key skills and experiences required of our Hygiene Manager:
- Previous experience within Food Hygiene Management, Sanitation Supervision, Technical Compliance, or Quality Assurance.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and hazard-auditing skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and influence operational teams positively to adopt high sanitation standards.
- Experience supporting fast-paced production teams within bakery, food manufacturing, hospitality, or similar high-care environments.
- Experience designing and establishing robust cleaning instruction templates and master sanitation schedules.
- Strong organisational, time management, and crisis-management skills.
- Confident using digital compliance software, audit apps, and tracking platforms.
- Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs), including supporting their implementation, review, and embedding.
- Passionate about food safety, workplace cleanliness, and supporting others to maintain a culture of excellence.
- Formal qualifications in Food Safety (Level 3 or 4), HACCP, or COSHH management would be advantageous.
- Understanding of pest control management, allergen management, and BRCGS global standards would be advantageous.
- Previous experience specifically within an industrial bakery, high-care food production, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment would be advantageous.
