Lead Hygiene Manager (Relocation Support Provided)

Food Manufacturing

Location: North Lanarkshire

Some Hygiene Manager roles are about maintaining standards.

This one is about redefining them.

A major food manufacturer is investing heavily in one of its largest and fastest-growing operations. The site has grown significantly over recent years and the next phase of that journey requires a different kind of hygiene leader. Someone who can look beyond today's cleaning schedule and build a function that's ready for tomorrow.

This isn't a department that needs keeping afloat. It needs someone who can raise expectations, develop people, improve efficiency, and create a culture where high standards become second nature. The foundations are there, but there is genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact.

You'll lead a large hygiene operation, working closely with Production, Technical, Engineering, and the wider leadership team to ensure the site remains audit-ready while continually challenging how things are done. The focus isn't simply compliance. It's creating a smarter, more efficient operation that supports a business continuing to invest and grow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll inherit a team with a broad mix of experience and capability. Some people will need coaching. Others will need challenging. Success will come from building confidence, developing future leaders, and creating clear accountability across the function. This is a role for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, leading from the front, and bringing people with them through change rather than simply telling them what needs to happen.

Investment across the site continues, including new technology and improvements to the way the operation works. They're looking for someone who isn't satisfied with "the way we've always done it", but instead enjoys questioning existing processes, identifying opportunities, and implementing improvements that make a measurable difference.
