Hygiene Manager – Food Manufacturing

Are you an experienced Hygiene Manager ready to take ownership of hygiene, food safety and continuous improvement within a high-volume food manufacturing environment?

We’re recruiting for an established food manufacturing site in Greater Manchester and are looking for a confident Hygiene Manager to lead the night hygiene operation, develop a high-performing team and drive standards across the site.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering the site hygiene strategy while ensuring compliance, safety and operational excellence.

You'll:

  • Lead and develop a team of 4, creating a strong culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Own the night hygiene operation, ensuring consistently high cleaning and hygiene standards.
  • Drive Food Safety, HACCP and FSQMS compliance.
  • Lead Health & Safety across the hygiene team, including training, risk reduction and near-miss improvement.
  • Use OPEX, data and root-cause analysis to identify issues and deliver sustainable improvements.
  • Manage hygiene KPIs, audits, SOPs, cleaning schedules and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with Technical, Production and Engineering teams to improve site performance.
  • Identify and implement more effective and efficient cleaning methods.

About You

We're looking for a hands-on, credible leader with:

  • Proven Hygiene Management experience within food manufacturing.
  • Experience leading a night hygiene operation.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety and microbiology.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and influencing skills.
  • A strong analytical and problem-solving approach.
  • A genuine passion for raising standards and continuous improvement.

Essential qualifications: Hygiene Certificate/Diploma, Level 3 Food Safety, Level 3 HACCP, COSHH and IOSH.

NEBOSH would be desirable.
