Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts, and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail-ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers, and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

Our Merthyr site is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly Hygiene team. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 6.30am to 7.00pm - 3 days on / 3 days on £12.90 per hour.

Responsibilities

As part of the Hygiene Team, your daily tasks will include:

  • Keeping the factory clean and tidy while meeting health and safety standards
  • Deep cleaning all machinery ready for production
  • Cleaning belts, hand cleaning, framework, walls, floor, ceilings, lights
  • Safe use of cleaning materials and chemicals, in line with training
  • You will be required to maintain the staff areas by keeping them hygienically clean and tidy - this will include disinfecting the toilet areas, washing the floors, locker rooms, and corridors
  • Waste disposal, sweeping floors/washing floors and walls, and adhering to PPE policies
  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention
  • Effective communication with Supervisor/Team Leaders
