Help maintain exceptional food safety standards in a role that makes a daily impact.
Role Overview
As a Hygiene Operative, you'll play an important role in ensuring our production environment remains clean, safe and fully compliant. Working closely with Production, Technical and Engineering teams, you'll help maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness that support product quality and food safety across the site.
This is a great opportunity to develop specialist knowledge within food manufacturing while becoming part of a collaborative team focused on high standards and continuous improvement.
Key Duties
- Develop a thorough understanding of the chemicals used within the hygiene department and their correct application
- Follow COSHH requirements and ensure compliance with relevant assessments
- Maintain high cleaning standards through effective use of cleaning systems, schedules and procedures
- Develop a strong understanding of factory equipment to ensure cleaning requirements are met
- Complete hygiene and compliance documentation accurately
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- Apply a basic understanding of food microbiology within daily activities
- Build positive working relationships across departments
- Ensure equipment is returned in a food-safe and operationally compliant condition
- Maintain clean-as-you-go standards across all work areas
- Support the cleanliness of High Risk, Low Risk and external areas
- Replenish chemicals and consumables to required levels
- Complete scheduled hygiene tasks and associated documentation

Ideal Candidate
- Experienced within a hygiene, food manufacturing or similar production environment
- Knowledgeable about hygiene standards and food safety requirements
- Comfortable working within established procedures and compliance frameworks
- A collaborative team member who enjoys working with colleagues across departments
- Well organised with the ability to manage tasks effectively
- Committed to delivering high-quality standards consistently
- Detail-focused with a thorough approach to your work
- Motivated to maintain a safe and efficient production environment
Desirable experience:
- At least one year's experience in a similar hygiene role
- A basic understanding of food microbiology
