Job Description

Fowler Welch is now looking for a reliable and hardworking Hygiene Operative to join our team at our Teynham site on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation across a busy logistics environment.

Shift

  • Sunday to Wednesday 12 hours shifts from 06:00 – 18:00

Salary

  • Monday to Wednesday: £12.71 per hour
  • Sunday: £15.25 per hour
  • Any overtime will be paid at £15.25 per hour

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carry out hygiene and cleaning duties across the site, including external yard areas, loading bays, vehicles and warehouse facilities.
  • Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach, ensuring potential hazards are identified and dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Follow all site practices and procedures in line with Fowler Welch’s BRC policy, Health & Safety policy and HACCP plan.
  • Use cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment safely, appropriately and economically, in line with training and instructions.
  • Proactively identify and report any defects, damage or maintenance issues to your line manager.
  • Work at height where required, once appropriately trained and competent to do so.
  • Wear the correct PPE at all times, particularly when completing external yard duties, which make up a significant part of the role.
  • Support the wider Facilities and Site teams when required, subject to appropriate training and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a hygiene, cleaning, warehouse, logistics or facilities environment would be beneficial.
  • A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for long periods and within a chilled warehouse environment when required.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a busy, fast-paced and pressurised environment.
  • Confidence using equipment such as jet wash systems to clean vehicles, loading bays and external areas, following training.
  • A strong awareness of Health & Safety for yourself and others.
  • Flexibility to support the site during peak periods, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.
