About The Role

We're looking for a proactive and experienced Hygiene Supervisor to join our team at Westerleigh. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising the hygiene team, maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards, and ensuring all cleaning activities are completed safely, effectively, and in line with customer, business, and regulatory requirements.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the site remains audit-ready while leading, developing, and supporting your team to deliver exceptional hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership to the hygiene team.
• Ensure all hygiene operatives are fully trained, competent, and working safely.
• Deliver hygiene standards in line with food safety, GMP, and customer requirements.
• Ensure the factory remains audit-ready at all times.
• Monitor the safe and correct use of chemicals, including concentration checks.
• Ensure all hygiene staff wear the appropriate PPE and follow site procedures.
• Oversee cleaning schedules and verify all tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure production areas are left clean and tidy.
• Complete and maintain accurate hygiene records and documentation.
• Provide training on hygiene procedures, food safety, health and safety, and chemical safety.
• Investigate hygiene, food safety, or health and safety issues and take appropriate action.
• Support performance management, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary procedures where required.
• Manage stocks of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE to minimize waste and ensure availability.
• Support internal and external audits, including customer visits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the hygiene function.
• Provide cover for the Hygiene Manager when required.
