Hygiene
We are looking for a Hygiene Operator to join our team at Ultrapharm bakery in Pontypool, part of the Finsbury Food Group, to support our safe, high-quality, and efficient food production operation.
Ultrapharm is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, specialising exclusively in gluten-free products since 1993. Our craft-led approach creates premium products with the flavour and texture of traditional bakery goods, supplying major UK retailers including Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
This is an important hands-on role where you’ll help keep our bakery, equipment and production areas clean, safe and ready for production. You’ll play a key part in maintaining our high standards of food safety, hygiene and quality, ensuring our products can be made in a safe and compliant environment.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail and understands the importance of getting the job done properly. Previous experience in industrial cleaning, hygiene, food manufacturing or production would be useful, but full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
As a Hygiene Operator, you’ll:
- Carry out cleaning and sanitisation of production machinery, equipment and manufacturing areas, helping to ensure everything is cleaned to the required food safety, quality and hygiene standards.
- Use a range of industrial cleaning equipment, including jet washers, foaming systems and cleaning tools, as well as safely handling cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements and our site procedures.
- Follow cleaning schedules, Hygiene Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and CIC Cards, completing your tasks within the required timescales so that production can operate safely and efficiently.
- Dismantle and reassemble production equipment to make sure all areas can be properly accessed and cleaned.
- Carry out pre-operational checks and report any hygiene, maintenance, quality or safety issues you identify.
- Keep accurate hygiene records and documentation and help maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site.
- Support internal, customer and third-party audits by helping to demonstrate the high standards we work to.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
