This is what you’ll actually do!
In this role, you will ensure that equipment and facilities are cleaned to the highest hygiene and food safety standards. You will follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules, complete deep-clean tasks, and carry out shutdown cleans including machinery strip-downs (training provided). This is an attractive and varied role, though at times it will also involve repetitive work, so you will need the resilience to meet that challenge while maintaining excellent standards. The role is predominantly lone working, so you must be confident working independently, using your initiative to complete tasks safely and efficiently. However, there will also be occasions where you will work as part of the wider hygiene team to support operational requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
