This is what you’ll actually do!
As a Hygiene Operator, you’ll carry out cleaning and sanitisation of production machinery, equipment, and manufacturing areas, helping to ensure everything is cleaned to the required food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
You’ll use a range of industrial cleaning equipment, including jet washers, foaming systems, and cleaning tools, as well as safely handling cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements and our site procedures.
You’ll follow cleaning schedules, Hygiene Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and CIC Cards, completing your tasks within the required timescales so that production can operate safely and efficiently.

You’ll keep accurate hygiene records and documentation and help maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site. You may also support internal, customer, and third-party audits by helping to demonstrate the high standards we work to.
Ideal candidate
Previous experience in industrial cleaning, hygiene, food manufacturing, or production would be desirable, but full training will be provided.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out a hands-on, manual cleaning role.
- A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Able to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow COSHH procedures.
- Comfortable working at height using ladders and approved access equipment where required.
- Able to follow procedures, cleaning schedules, and work instructions accurately.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to get stuck in.
- Good communication skills and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Positive "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn.
