Ornua (meaning “new gold”) is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products, proudly bringing the unique taste of Irish dairy to the world for over 55 years.

Are you a hygiene operative looking for the challenge of taking a mission-driven organization to its next level of success?

Ornua is actively seeking a hygiene operative to join our technical department as we continue our growth trajectory.

About the Role

As our Hygiene Operative you will play a key role in ensuring that all machines and food production areas meet strict standards of hygiene at all times which adhere to customer requirements and food safety requirements. You will work across production areas and will ensure that any incidents or environmental concerns are reported.

Why Ornua?

Ornua operates as a commercial organization from 10 business units worldwide, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa.

The commercial organization is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold.

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility.

Our co-operative ethos lies at the heart of how we do business as a purpose and values-led organization, creating value for Irish dairy farming families.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
