Location: Sheffield - Hybrid

Are you a software engineer with a passion for security, cloud-native technologies, and identity management?
We're looking for talented IAM Engineers to join a major identity transformation programme, helping to design and deliver modern Identity & Access Management capabilities at enterprise scale. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge identity solutions that support millions of users, applications, and services across a complex global environment.
As part of a highly skilled Agile team, you'll build and operate secure, scalable, and resilient identity services while working alongside architects, security specialists, product owners, and platform engineers.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the heart of a large-scale IAM modernisation initiative focused on transforming how identity is managed across a global organisation.
You'll be responsible for developing cloud-native identity solutions, integrating modern authentication technologies, and delivering secure services that support both human and non-human identities. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, building high-quality software, and driving innovation in security and identity.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, test, and support modern identity platform capabilities.
- Build cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Develop event-driven integrations across enterprise platforms.
- Implement authentication, authorisation, and identity federation solutions.
- Build secure integrations with internal systems and third-party services.
- Support Human Identity, Agent Identity, and Workload Identity initiatives.
- Develop Policy-as-Code integrations and identity services.
- Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Participate in peer reviews, code reviews, and design discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, platform, and integration issues.
- Support deployments across development, test, and production environments.
- Develop technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and resilience requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and product teams.
- Support monitoring, observability, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation across the engineering lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong software engineering background.
- Experience building cloud-native applications and services.
- API development expertise, including RESTful services.
- Experience with microservices and distributed architectures.
- Event-driven architecture Experience.
- Hands-on Experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments.
- Strong Git version control knowledge.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Experience.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of identity standards including:
- OAuth2
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- SAML
- SCIM
- Secure coding and application security best practices.
- Automated testing and quality engineering Experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
