Job Description
The Role
Reporting to the IAM Engineering Lead, the IAM Engineer will support the delivery and operation of ASOS's Identity and Access Management services.
Initially, a significant portion of your time will be spent supporting operational IAM processes and resolving access-related issues. As you build your understanding of the IAM landscape, you will be expected to identify opportunities to simplify, improve, and automate manual activities, basically automate the boring stuff so you can do the exciting stuff!
Success in this role is not measured by how many tickets you process, but by how effectively you eliminate repetitive work through engineering, automation, and process improvement.
You will work across a broad range of IAM technologies and processes including identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorisation, privilege management, access governance, automation, and service improvement. You will also be given ownership of individual projects that contribute to the team's roadmap and wider IAM strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
IAM Operations
- Support Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes.
- Review access requests from the wider business.
- Support access reviews, access packages, entitlement management, and governance activities.
- Assist with privileged access management processes.
- Investigate authentication and authorisation issues across IAM platforms.
- Support audit and compliance activities through evidence gathering and reporting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
