Location: London – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Contract: 12 months
Sector: Banking / Financial Services
About The Role
On behalf of our client, a leading global banking and financial services organisation, we are looking for an experienced IAM / IGA Operations & Release Manager to join their cyber security team on a 12-month contract based in London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating operational activities, managing releases and ensuring the smooth delivery of changes across the organisation's Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) environment.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in IT operations, release management or service delivery, combined with a good understanding of IAM / IGA technologies, ideally RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle (RSA IGL) or SailPoint.
This is not a hands-on engineering or platform configuration role. The successful candidate does not need to be a technical specialist but must understand the technology well enough to work effectively with engineers, application support teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a regulated banking environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operational activities across the IAM / IGA environment.
- Plan, schedule and manage application and platform releases, ensuring changes are delivered smoothly into production.
- Work closely with IAM engineers, application support teams, infrastructure teams and external vendors.
- Coordinate release readiness activities, including testing, approvals, deployment planning and rollback arrangements.
- Manage change requests and ensure compliance with internal change management processes and Change Advisory Board (CAB) requirements.
- Track and coordinate incidents, problems and operational issues, ensuring appropriate technical teams are engaged.
- Monitor release progress, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain release calendars, operational documentation, change records and reporting.
- Support service improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to streamline operational and release processes.
- Coordinate post-release validation, issue resolution and lessons learned.
- Ensure operational and release activities comply with internal security policies, audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Act as a key point of contact between cyber security, IT operations, application owners and business stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident managing operational activities and coordinating technical releases.
You should be comfortable working with engineers and technical specialists without needing to perform the technical work yourself. Your strength will be in planning, coordination, communication and ensuring that changes are delivered safely and successfully.
You will need to understand the impact of releases on business operations, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure that the right people are involved at the right time.
Importantly, this is not a hands-on IAM engineering, development or configuration role. We are looking for an experienced Operations & Release Manager with a good understanding of IAM / IGA technologies, rather than a technical platform specialist.
