About The Role
Identity and Access Management (IAM) is central to Vanguard’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time. We seek a motivated IAM professional with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and relationship management skills to support access management across Vanguard’s global enterprise.
This role is a key Provisioning liaison among business teams, external service providers, risk and control functions, technology teams, and leaders. The successful candidate will translate business needs into effective access solutions while maintaining a strong risk and security mindset. Candidates should be proactive, independent problem-solvers who learn quickly, improve processes, and contribute in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Partner with banking teams, third-party vendors, external banks, risk and control partners, technology teams, and senior leaders to support access management and provisioning.
- Manage IAM processes, including role design, provisioning, deprovisioning, and access governance.
- Translate business needs into technical access solutions and clearly communicate requirements to stakeholders.
- Resolve complex access issues using a risk-based approach, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support third-party financial service applications and platforms by managing user access, permissions, and security controls.
- Complete security administration requests with proper approvals, policy compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Implement enterprise IAM standards and best practices with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement by addressing process inefficiencies and identifying automation opportunities.
- Use Jira and ServiceNow to manage work intake, incidents, requests, tasks, and project deliverables.
- Maintain documentation, operating procedures, onboarding materials, and future-state process designs.
- Analyze and report performance metrics to support vendor management and operational effectiveness.
- Support audits, remediation, and security reviews as an IAM process and controls subject matter expert.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
