IBA Accounts Assistant | Hybrid

Open Gi system experience is essential


Your new company

A leading and rapidly growing insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced IBA / CASS Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. With over 700 employees nationwide and a people-first culture, the business combines the benefits of a large organisation with the values and flexibility of a family-run business. Following continued growth through acquisition, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced insurance accounting professional to support a specialist broking operation using Open GI. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of client and insurer transactions while maintaining compliance with CASS regulations.

Reporting directly to the CASS Manager, you will work closely with Account Executives, Finance and Broking teams, becoming a key point of contact for insurer and client accounting matters.


Your new role

  • Receipt and allocation of cash into client money accounts
  • Accurate allocation of client and insurer funds to the correct accounts
  • Reconciliation of insurer statements using Open GI
  • Investigation and resolution of outstanding insurer and client balances
  • Processing client refunds and insurer payments
  • Reconciliation of client money bank accounts and associated ledgers
  • Liaising with Account Executives and Broking teams regarding outstanding transactions and accounting queries
  • Posting and allocation of premiums, commissions, fees and refunds
  • Supporting compliance with FCA CASS regulations and internal controls
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and audit trails
  • Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting as required
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the IBA function

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within an IBA, CASS or Insurance Accounts function
  • Strong working knowledge of Open GI (essential)
  • Experience of insurer statement reconciliations and cash allocations
  • Understanding of FCA Client Money (CASS) regulations
