IBA Ledger Lead (Interim)
6 to 12 months | Day rate or FTC | Market rate | [Location / hybrid]
About the opportunity
My client is building a new IBA ledger and is looking for an experienced broker accounting specialist to lead the work. The business has no in-house experience of building a ledger, so this person will bring the expertise, guide the thinking and own the project from design through to delivery.
The client has been clear that this is an IBA and insurance transactions role, not a general ledger one. They want someone who has lived and breathed broking accounts and knows exactly how money moves through an insurance broker.
The role reports into senior finance leadership and works closely with the wider project team.
What you'll be doing
Leading the design
- Running design workshops with finance, operations and the project team
- Owning the thought process on how the ledger should be structured and how it should work
- Challenging and supporting the team's thinking, drawing on your own experience of what good looks like
Defining insurance transaction flows

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
