IBMi Managed Services Consultant

3–6 Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Remote | UK Travel | Immediate Start

An established MSP / IT Services organisation is looking for an experienced IBMi Managed Services Consultant to support its managed infrastructure and client environments across the UK.

The role is primarily remote, with travel to client sites across the UK as required.

IBMi Managed Services Consultant Key Details

  • 3–6 month initial contract, with potential to extend
  • Outside IR35
  • Remote working
  • UK travel as required
  • Immediate start
  • Full-time, 7.5 hours per day - Monday–Friday, covering 8am–6pm
  • Participation in an on-call rota

IBMi Managed Services Consultant Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational support across IBMi / Power Systems environments
  • Monitor and respond to alerts across IBMi and wider datacentre infrastructure
  • Support servers, storage, backup, virtualisation and networking environments
  • Act as a primary technical contact for client incidents and service requests
  • Resolve incidents within agreed SLAs and escalate where required
  • Carry out planned maintenance, OS and firmware upgrades
  • Support disaster recovery and data restore testing
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures and service records
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation and managed service processes
  • Work closely with client managers and internal technical teams

IBMi Managed Services Consultant Required Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBMi / IBM Power Systems
  • Previous experience within a managed services, infrastructure support or technical operations environment
  • Experience supporting and monitoring enterprise infrastructure
  • Good understanding of incident management, SLAs and escalation processes
  • Experience working directly with clients and communicating technical issues clearly
  • Comfortable working within maintenance windows and an on-call environment
