Are you an experienced IBM i RPG Developer looking for more than just another programming role?

Total e Solutions is one of the UK's leading IBM i consultancies, and we're looking for an ambitious IBM i RPG Developer & Systems Support Consultant to join our growing team.

This is a unique hybrid position offering the perfect balance between software development and customer consultancy. You'll spend approximately 50% of your time developing RPG solutions and 50% supporting bespoke IBM i business applications used by major organisations within the logistics industry.

No two days are the same. If you enjoy solving problems, working directly with customers and developing quality IBM i solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and enhancing applications using RPG ILE / RPG Free on IBM i.
  • Providing second and third-line support for bespoke IBM i business systems.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and resolving customer issues.
  • Working closely with consultants and customers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participating in customer projects, enhancements and software improvements.
  • Travelling occasionally to customer sites within the UK and Europe when required.

Full training will be provided on our customers' bespoke business applications, so you'll become an expert in the systems we support.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' commercial IBM i RPG ILE / RPG Free development experience (essential).
  • Strong IBM i knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with customers.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a consultancy team.
  • Professional, organised and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
