IC Layout Manager

We are working with a highly successful and rapidly growing semiconductor company based just north of London, who are looking to appoint an IC Layout Manager to lead their expanding IC team.

This is a key leadership opportunity where you will manage a multidisciplinary team of IC design and layout engineers, working on next-generation, high-speed communication technologies. Reporting directly to the IC Design Director, you will play an important role in shaping the team, processes and technical direction as the company continues its ambitious growth.

As a senior technical leader, you will have significant influence across the wider engineering organisation, with a clear opportunity to progress into broader leadership responsibilities as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of IC layout and design engineers.
  • Oversee multiple layout projects from initial floorplanning and implementation through to silicon tape-out.
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure high standards of analogue IC layout quality and methodology.
  • Plan and manage team resources, project priorities and delivery schedules across multiple programmes.
  • Work closely with IC Design, Physical Design, Verification and other engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Act as a key technical and organisational stakeholder, communicating effectively across the business.
  • Help develop and improve layout methodologies, processes and best practices as the organisation continues to scale.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
