Are you an experienced I&C Metering Engineer, Three Phase Metering Engineer or Commercial Metering Engineer looking for a permanent field-based role covering North West London?

RecruitME is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK smart energy and metering business for an experienced engineer to cover commercial and industrial customer sites across Brent, Barnet, Camden and the wider North West London area.

Salary
Your salary will reflect your experience, technical competence and operating level:

  • Level 4: £42,517.80
  • Level 3: £44,643.69
  • Level 2: £46,769.58
  • Level 1: £48,895.47

The Role
As an I&C Metering Engineer, you will work independently across commercial and industrial customer sites throughout North West London.

Your work will be planned in advance on a weekly basis, with daily travel across Brent, Barnet, Camden and surrounding areas.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing and communication of a range of commercial electrical metering equipment, including:

  • AMR meters
  • Three Phase Whole Current meters
  • Half Hourly meters
  • Low Voltage metering systems
  • High Voltage Code of Practice meters
  • Metering communications and data loggers

You will report to the Operations Manager and receive ongoing support from an experienced Field Coach, delivery support team and wider field operations function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, exchange and maintain commercial and industrial electricity meters
  • Work on Low Voltage and High Voltage Code of Practice metering systems
  • Carry out meter and logger communication testing
  • Diagnose and restore failed metering communications
  • Retrieve data from metering equipment
  • Use meter programming and diagnostic software
  • Complete accurate job records and technical documentation
  • Liaise with customers, support teams and field operations colleagues
  • Manage van stock, tools and metering equipment
  • Deliver excellent customer service at every site
  • Work in accordance with health and safety procedures and industry standards

You will need previous experience within the electrical metering industry and a good understanding of commercial and industrial metering systems.

Skills and Qualifications
Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous commercial or industrial metering experience
  • EUSR registration up to Three Phase Whole Current
  • Experience with AMR or Half Hourly metering
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds electrical qualifications or equivalent
  • Experience using meter programming software
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills and confidence using digital field systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence
