About the Company
The Instrumentation & Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, engineering, testing, and commissioning all instrumentation and control systems for a high-voltage synchronous condenser installation. This role ensures that plant automation, monitoring, and protection systems meet all performance, reliability, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Develop control philosophies, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and logic diagrams for the synchronous condenser and auxiliary systems (cooling, lube oil, excitation, etc.).
- Specify, size, and select instruments (pressure, temperature, vibration, flow, level) and control equipment such as PLCs, SCADA, and DCS components.
- Prepare detailed I&C engineering documentation: data sheets, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and control narratives.
Project Execution & Integration
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to integrate I&C systems.
- Review vendor designs, perform FAT/SAT, and approve control system hardware/software.
- Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards, grid codes, and cyber-security requirements.

Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise field instrumentation installation, calibration, and wiring.
- Program and test control logic, alarms, and interlocks for start-up and shutdown sequences.
- Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover to operations.
Quality & Safety
- Implement quality control and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
- Prepare O&M manuals and provide training to operations and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in power generation, high-voltage substations, or rotating machinery (e.g., generators, motors, synchronous condensers).
- Strong knowledge of PLC/DCS systems, SCADA, communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC), and industrial networking.
- Familiarity with relevant codes/standards (IEC, IEEE, ISA, NFPA, ISO).
- Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with synchronous condenser control logic, excitation systems, and grid stability projects.
- Proficiency in control system programming (Siemens, ABB, GE, or similar).
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance systems (vibration, condition monitoring).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and cross-disciplinary coordination abilities.
Pay range and compensation package
Project duration and travel requirements (e.g., site mobilization, occasional international travel).
Reporting structure (e.g., reports to Project Manager or Lead Electrical Engineer).
