Technical Field Research Manager – Amega Sciences
Reports to: Business Manager
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire (NN11 8PH) or Hybrid Working
About the Role
Amega Sciences, part of ICL Growing Solutions, is looking for an innovative Technical Field Research Manager to lead the evaluation and development of new technologies focused on plant performance, nutrient use efficiency (NUE) and water use efficiency (WUE) across global agricultural, horticultural, turf and ornamental markets.
You will play a key role in taking new technologies and product concepts from idea through to commercial launch, generating scientific evidence, managing research programmes and supporting product development throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage and evaluate field, glasshouse and laboratory trials.
- Develop innovative technologies and products focused on NUE, WUE and plant physiology.
- Analyse and interpret scientific data to support commercial opportunities and product claims.
- Manage research projects, budgets, timelines and external research partnerships.
- Collaborate with global R&D, marketing, regulatory and commercial teams.
- Support product launches through technical training, scientific presentations and customer engagement.
- Contribute to intellectual property development, including patents and invention disclosures.
About You
- Degree in Plant Physiology, Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Agriculture or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in agricultural, horticultural, turf or plant science R&D.
- Strong understanding of plant physiology, NUE and WUE.
- Experience designing trials, analysing data and producing technical reports.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- MSc, PhD, BASIS and/or FACTS qualifications are advantageous.
