Fixed term zero-hours contract until 28th February 2027
£13.31 per hour

We’re pleased to offer the opportunity for a Seasonal Ice Rink Supervisor to join our team for the winter season. This is a key leadership role within our Ice Rink operation, supporting thousands of visitors to enjoy a safe, memorable, and joyful skating experience.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven supervisory experience
  • A strong understanding of ice rink operations
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety
  • A passion for delivering world-class guest experiences

As an Ice Rink Supervisor, you’ll lead the day-to-day coordination and administration of the Ice Stewarding Team. You’ll ensure the team is motivated, well-informed, and equipped to deliver exceptional customer service. You’ll be a visible and supportive presence on the rink, using interactive and innovative leadership to inspire your team - especially during the busiest days of our winter season.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll:

  • Help create a welcoming, festive atmosphere for all our guests

Role Purpose

Your role is to lead the team and supervise all aspects of the day-to-day Eden ice Rink operation to provide a safe and enjoyable winter activity. You will work alongside other Ice Rink Supervisors and report into the Guest Services Manager to run and coordinate an effective daily schedule on an immaculate Ice Rink. You will strive to assist in delivering a world class experience at all times and champion this culture within the team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Guest Services Manager in the setup and de-rig of the Ice Rink, and take the lead in coordinating its day-to-day operation. Use strong organisational and communication skills to work alongside fellow supervisors - managing schedules, leading training, overseeing admin, and ensuring systems and reporting are accurate and up to date.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Duty Managers, Education team, and Steward Team Leaders to ensure the Ice Rink is always safely staffed and running smoothly—delivering a joyful and memorable experience for every Eden visitor.
  • Lead and supervise a team of up to 15 Ice Stewards, working closely with Steward Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure effective deployment. Provide ongoing training and regular updates, with a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Champion health and safety across all aspects of the operation. Maintain a positive, proactive approach to the wellbeing of your team, and ensure operational systems and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Put people first - guests and colleagues alike. Work closely with daily operational teams to anticipate and resolve issues, always upholding Eden’s spirit of service excellence and care.
  • Contribute to and maintain essential documentation, including the Ice Rink’s Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments, ensuring they are current, clear, and practical.
  • Support the delivery of events and skating lessons, assisting with planning, coordination, and administration to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Demands of the Role

Education & qualifications
Operational experience of maintaining controls and systems within a multi-skilled environment.

Knowledge & skills
ICT literate with a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. The ability to organise and report on both your own work and the work of other team members.

Decision-making
Make day to day decisions in order to ensure that the daily operational delivery is seamless. Any complex, business critical decision making will be escalated to the Guest Services Manager or Head of Operations.

Resourcefulness
Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own and tackle challenges head on with a positive, can-do attitude. The ability to work with other teams to plan and schedule delivery on site in the most organised and streamlined and sometimes creative way possible, often to extremely tight deadlines.

People & asset management
Ensure that the Team equipment and uniform is in working order and stored in a safe and secure place ready for the team to use. This role is responsible for the leadership of a team of between 10 and 15 members, leadership qualities and a positive ‘can do’ attitude are essential.

Communication & visitor experience
Communicate well at all levels when needed. Positively champion and promote the guest experience and engagement through all aspects of your role.

Occasional verbal and written communication with associates, clients and customers.

Operational environment
This role is an operational role which will involve liaising with colleagues at the same level and other relevant teams. You will need to be able to self-motivate and work on your own although you will have regular contact with the Operations Managers, Head of Operations and the Duty Managers. In order to meet operational site needs you will be required to work weekends and evenings.
