WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight seeks an ICP Supervisor for our Liverpool, UK team. This critical role supports our wet chemistry laboratories by overseeing the Precious Metals ICP Department.
The supervisor will work with the Precious Metals ICP Manager and lab teams to ensure efficient operation and high standards, acting as the first point of contact for submitting labs. The role demands precision, accuracy, and efficient analytical service across various samples. The supervisor is also expected to provide high-level technical guidance to ICP Operators and Sample Preparation technicians.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others.
- Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities.
- The ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority.
- High level of manual dexterity is required, with the ability to occasionally lift loads of up to 10kg.
- Ability to work and organise the team in a structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business.
- High attention to detail.
- Read, understand and follow work instructions and guidelines accurately.
- Able to focus on meeting given deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats.
- Proven time management skills, quality driven and proactive.

Required Work Experience
- Three or more years hands on experience with an ICP-OES Spectrometer.
- Experience creating and validating instrument methods.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum GCSE equivalent education in Mathematics, English Language and Science.
Travel
Travel is not a regular requirement of this position. But if required, for instance, supporting other local laboratories or overseas work, this will be arranged on a case by case basis and in agreement with all parties involved.
