Description
As part of ICT Services, the post holder will provide ICT/technical support to the College’s learners, staff and partners across all campuses and associated Learning Centres.
The post holder will contribute to the development of IT services within the College, support the College’s IT hardware and software estate, deploy hardware and software where necessary and ensure that related administrative tasks are completed to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first and second-line ICT support to staff, students, and external partners, both on-site and remotely.
- Provide maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of ICT hardware, software, telephony systems, and related infrastructure across College and partner locations.
- Manage and resolve support requests through the ICT Service Desk, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels and maintaining accurate records.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base resources to support users and colleagues.
- Support the security, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of endpoint devices, ensuring compliance with College policies and standards.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software asset records and contribute to effective asset management processes.
- Perform Service Desk administrative duties, including monitoring activities and participation in a rota to provide telephone and remote support coverage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of ICT services and undertake professional development to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications:
- Educated to HND (SCQF level 8) in a Computing discipline or equivalent; or relevant experience as an alternative to a formal qualification
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Demonstrable knowledge of:
- Utilising remote technologies to assist users and streamline operations
- High-level of computer literacy using ICT systems and software
Skills and Competencies:
- Effective communication skills
- Organisational and time management skills
- Customer focused approach to delivering ICT Services
- Ability to be proactive when providing ICT Support
Experience:
- Administration of Windows Operating Systems and handheld OS’s (iOS & Android)
- Supporting desktop and mobile applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, modern browsers
- Basic Mac OSX operations
- Deployment of PCs, laptops and handheld devices
- Deployment of software and applications
- Managing security software on endpoint devices
- Providing ICT support to a similar sized organisation
