We are seeking Identity Engineers to support our busy IDAM team and assist in designing, building, and maintaining systems that control access to the university's applications, data, devices, and infrastructure. Delivering secure, reliable identity solutions that underpin the University’s digital services, security posture, and regulatory compliance.

This role combines specialist identity engineering expertise with operational support, continuous improvement, and service optimisation and plays a critical part in protecting sensitive data, enforcing security policies, and enabling compliant user access across applications and systems.

This role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact on a critical service while developing specialist identity engineering expertise in a complex, collaborative, and rewarding environment.

We require deep technical expertise with a strong service focus and good exposure of responsibility for developing, integrating, and supporting identity tooling (e.g. Entra ID, Active Directory, and associated platforms).

Duties will include:

  • Helping to ensure services run smoothly by supporting deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of identity systems, responding proactively to issues.
  • The role will collaborate closely with technical colleagues, project teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions that enhance security, user experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Taking ownership of complex and escalated technical problems, driving robust resolution and continuous improvement. In addition, you will contribute to a structured change management and release framework, ensuring changes are controlled, well-documented, and effectively communicated.
  • Working as part of a collaborative technical team, you will focus on the hands-on implementation and continuous improvement of identity solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with modern best practices.
  • Throughout the role, you will apply strong security and data protection principles, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
  • Contribute to high-quality documentation, knowledge sharing, and skills transfer within the team, helping to build capability and reduce long-term dependency risk.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
