You’ll originate, develop and secure strategic acquisition opportunities across sectors including data centres, airports, healthcare, universities, BESS and EV infrastructure, while building senior relationships that create a sustainable pipeline and long-term commercial opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive commercial growth, help shape E.ON’s IDNO Private Networks proposition and support the development of E.ON’s position in the UK private electricity networks market.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and commercial delivery of E.ON’s IDNO Private Networks strategy, helping to establish and grow a new market channel that accelerates regulated asset growth, gross margin and long-term enterprise value.
- Develop and execute E.ON’s Private Networks go-to-market strategy, creating a sustainable pipeline of opportunities aligned to the wider IDNO growth and regulated asset targets.

- Develop senior relationships with landlords, developers, infrastructure owners, asset managers, consultants and strategic partners to position E.ON as a preferred partner for private network assets.
- Steer the development of commercially compelling propositions, asset valuations, investment cases and acquisition structures that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns.
- Create, manage and convert a national pipeline of private network opportunities, maintaining robust forecasting of asset value, gross margin, capital deployment and strategic growth outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, operations, legal, finance and land rights teams to coordinate due diligence activities and ensure opportunities progress efficiently through governance and approval processes.
- Develop investment papers and approval submissions that support capital deployment choices and demonstrate expected revenue, gross margin and return on investment outcomes.
- Represent E.ON across industry events, conferences, trade bodies and customer forums, raising market awareness of E.ON’s private networks proposition and strengthening market presence.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of industry regulation, market developments, customer drivers and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate commercial risk.
- Support the development of a scalable private networks capability, helping to shape the proposition, processes and ways of working as the market opportunity grows.
- Build relationships across the private networks, infrastructure, investment and energy ecosystem to identify new opportunities and support the continued growth of E.ON’s Private Networks proposition.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
