IDS Engineer (2nd/3rd Line Support)

A Glasgow based public Sector organisation is currently seeking an experienced IDS Engineer (Infrastructure & Digital Services Engineer) to join a busy enterprise IT operations team supporting a multi-partner Microsoft environment. In the role, you will be responsible for delivering 2nd/3rd line technical support, maintaining core infrastructure services, and contributing to the continual improvement of digital services across a complex Microsoft technology estate.
The successful candidate will provide technical support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis across Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows operating systems, Active Directory, endpoint management and related infrastructure services. They will also manage Incidents and Service requests through ServiceNow, working closely with 1st Line support teams, project delivery teams and third-party suppliers, whilst also assisting with the implementation of new technologies and service improvements (as / when required).

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis across Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows operating systems, Active Directory, endpoint management and related infrastructure services.
- Manage Incidents and Service requests through ServiceNow.
- Work closely with 1st Line support teams, project delivery teams and third-party suppliers.
- Assist with the implementation of new technologies and service improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong & proven knowledge in similar, Microsoft focussed, 2nd/3rd Line Support roles.
- Experience of managing the Microsoft technology stack including M365 Tenants/Subscriptions, Windows 11, InTune, Active Directory, Entra ID, etc.
- Experience supporting Microsoft endpoint management (e.g., Intune, Windows build/configuration, policy/compliance).
- Experience working within an ITSM/Service Desk environment, using an ITSM tool to manage incidents/requests and meet SLAs (ServiceNow).
- Knowledge & experience in the Scottish Public / Scottish Government is always highly advantageous.
- M365 Certification are also highly desirable but not essential.
