Help shape smarter decisions through data and intelligence.

We're looking for an ambitious and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data, Intelligence and Information Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to use data, insight and intelligence to support community safety, enforcement, licensing, CCTV and public protection services that make a real difference to residents and businesses.

As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you'll work with colleagues across the Council, the police and external partners to transform complex data into meaningful intelligence. You'll identify trends, assess performance, uncover emerging risks and opportunities, and produce high-quality analytical products that inform both strategic and operational decision-making.

This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, using data from multiple sources to help tackle local challenges, improve services and support intelligence-led operations. You'll also have the opportunity to develop expertise in areas such as GIS analysis, performance management, enforcement intelligence and information governance.

We're looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience working with complex datasets, and the ability to communicate insights clearly and confidently to a variety of audiences. You'll be comfortable managing competing priorities, building effective relationships and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
