IFS Technical Consultant – Permissions & Security
Location: UK / Hybrid
Contract: 6 Months+
Start Date: ASAP
IR35: Outside IR35
IT Works Recruitment are currently supporting a client looking for an experienced IFS Technical Consultant specialising in Permissions and Security to join their team on an initial contract basis. The consultant will take responsibility for the technical design, configuration and management of IFS security and permissions, with a particular focus on Permission Sets, User Groups, Security Roles and user access.
This is a hands-on technical position and requires someone who can work independently within an existing IFS environment, understand complex security requirements and implement robust permission structures across the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure and maintain IFS Permission Sets.
- Configure and manage IFS User Groups, Security Roles and user access.
- Review and optimise existing IFS security and permission structures.
- Translate technical and business requirements into appropriate IFS security configurations.
- Troubleshoot complex IFS permissions and access issues.
- Investigate and resolve user access and authorisation problems.
- Support the technical team with permission-related changes and enhancements.
- Conduct permission and access reviews across the IFS environment.
- Identify permission conflicts, gaps and excessive access.
- Maintain technical documentation relating to IFS security and permissions.
- Support IFS implementations, upgrades and system changes from a permissions perspective.
- Work closely with Functional Consultants, Business Analysts, Developers and system administrators.
- Provide technical guidance and best practice around IFS security and access management.

Required Experience
- Strong commercial experience as an IFS Technical Consultant.
- Proven hands-on experience with IFS Permission Sets.
- Strong technical understanding of IFS security and authorisation.
- Experience configuring User Groups, Security Roles and permissions.
- Strong knowledge of the technical side of IFS Cloud.
- Experience troubleshooting IFS access and permissions.
- Ability to analyse existing security configurations and recommend improvements.
- Experience working on IFS implementations, upgrades or optimisation projects.
- Ability to work independently and engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Desirable Technical Skills
- IFS Cloud / Aurena experience.
- Experience across multiple IFS functional modules.
- Knowledge of IFS technical architecture.
- Experience with IFS integrations and technical configurations.
- Experience working with large or complex IFS user environments.
- Previous experience in IFS security, administration or technical architecture.
