Job Title: IIA Design Reviewer - Mechanical Engineer
Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Pay: £399.88 PAYE or £557.15 Umbrella

Job Purpose / Overview
The Pressure Compliance Team is crucial to the successful delivery of Hinkley Point C (HPC), coordinating and managing surveillance activities, interfacing directly with the HPC contract partners and internal stakeholders to provide assurance of the work performed.
Principal Accountabilities
The IIA Design Reviewer will be required to:
- Perform surveillance of the design documentation in accordance with the applicable requirements and notify the Pressure Compliance Lead of observations,
- Submit details of the observations raised and assist in convergence meetings to progress these,
- Proactively communicate with other teams, maintain good communication and ensure surveillance is timely reported,
- Contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators,
- Endeavour to identify potential issues before they arrive to enable mitigating actions,
- Enhance the team with a good perspective of current and future activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- Broad knowledge and wide understanding of the Engineering Construction industry, materials, trades methods and legal requirements.
- Experience with design of piping in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience with design codes and standards such as EN 13480, ASME III, RCC-M.
- Excellent organisation, delegation, and good communication skills (knowledge of French can be an advantage).
- Proven experience of writing reports which are accurate and concise.
- Good attention to detail when checking work and the ability to maintain quality standards in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of the documentation used to comply with pressure regulations.

Desirable:
- Previous experience producing or reviewing piping components and systems design documentation to comply with pressure regulations.
- Knowledge of EDF specifications for piping components and systems.
