We are looking for an illustrator or graphic designer with a strong ability to communicate complex or sensitive topics to help create illustrations or graphics to complement our short courses that support survivors of domestic abuse to recover free from fear.
What difference will you make?
This work will help us promote our survivor recovery programmes and in turn support women and young people to begin to recover from the trauma of domestic abuse and violence. It will help participants understand the tactics that have been used against them to create fear and dependence and learn that it was not their fault. With your help, the graphics or illustrations will help build our brand and support the development and growth of the programme - Steps to Freedom.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a passionate artist, illustrator or graphic designer with a creative eye and a strong ability to communicate complex or sensitive topics through engaging visuals.
Our ideal volunteer will be able to turn difficult subjects into accessible, thought-provoking artwork, using creativity and humour to help people connect with and understand the issues. Experience in illustration, graphic design or visual storytelling would be highly valued.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is imaginative, empathetic and confident in developing ideas, with a willingness to explore challenging topics and bring them to life in a sensitive yet engaging way.

What will you be doing?
To create cartoons that help explain topics such as consent, tech facilitated abuse and post separation abuse - ideally with a sense of humour while not making light of the topic but to make this memorable. We would like 10 graphics or illustrations, one for each week of the programme that we can use to help promote the sessions on social media. They will also be published within the handbooks and on our website. Cartoons should show a diverse range of people and be accessible and easy to understand. You will work with our marketing and comms worker who has co-designed the programme.
