About The Job

Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for an Illustrator to join a world-class art team where you will be responsible for producing evocative illustrations that capture all the thrilling characters and environments of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

As part of the renowned art team in our Nottingham Design Studio, you’ll be responsible for producing detailed, fantastical illustrations for various print products and formats, including Codexes, rulebooks and packaging, across Warhammer 40,000 and other related games such as Kill Team.

Highly creative and with a deep passion for Warhammer 40,000, you’ll produce high impact, digitally rendered illustrations steeped in a deep understanding of the 40K IP, while working to a brief and faithfully recreating our Citadel Miniatures in artwork. You’ll possess strong figure drawing and painting skills, and enjoy the challenge of producing highly rendered and appropriate art to strict deadlines, whilst always pushing quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
