A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager to join a leading defence organisation, supporting the development and delivery of complex weapon systems for future export customers.

This role will lead ILS activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and in-service support. The successful candidate will develop support solutions, influence system design and act as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of ILS strategies and plans in line with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Manage ILS activities across the full lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and in-service support.
  • Develop robust Through Life Support policies and support solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ASD S-Series standards, including S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, S4000P and S5000F.
  • Ensure compliance with Def Stan 00-600 and current UK MoD ILS standards.
  • Oversee Logistics Support Analysis, maintenance task analysis, spares modelling and provisioning.
  • Oversee the development and design of support equipment, training and technical documentation.
  • Act as the primary ILS point of contact for customers and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the delivery of support equipment across UK and international programmes.
  • Support bids and proposals, including ILS costing and risk assessment.
  • Manage and mentor ILS practitioners within the programme or functional team.
  • Identify and manage ILS risks, assumptions and dependencies.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience working with UK MOD customers and defence prime contractors.
  • Experience within weapon system development or support environments.
  • Experience supporting bids and proposals.
  • The ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing requirements.
  • Experience working within an international environment.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Proven experience in an ILS, Supportability or Through Life Support role within the defence or aerospace sector.
  • A broad engineering background, ideally degree qualified or equivalent in a technical discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASD S-Series ILS standards and their practical application.
  • The ability to lead a team and strategically plan work to ensure commitments are met.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage risks, assumptions and dependencies effectively across complex programmes.
