The IM Demand Planning Manager role is a unique role within a growing and diverse business. With responsibilities for about 100 forecast markets and approximately 450 SKUs sourced from 6 plants (Tea, Ovaltine, Ovo Biscuits, and RTD iced Tea) the role is challenging, exciting and rewarding for someone who enjoys working across multiple functions, regions, and distributors. Regions and markets are quite diverse regarding capabilities and size so the ability to adapt to different situations is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of a volume forecast in APO DP each month with a horizon of 18-24 months using a variety of inputs
- Reconcile forecast volumes in P&L with latest approved budget and work with commercial teams to support closure of gaps to result in an agreed, aligned forecast.
- Develop statistical forecasts in Excel based on targets supplied by commercial team for selected distributors
- Ensure NPD, new product listing and delists are reflected in forecasts
- Release tea forecast to APO SNP and send Ovo forecast once per month to relevant manufacturing plants
- Represent IM demand planning in Supply Review meetings with Swarzedz Supply Centre
- Support inventory optimization across distributor base through lead-time reductions and reduction of forecast error
- Support SKU rationalization process to manage low volume SKUs
- Manage local masterdata in APO DP
- Identify and deliver projects bringing about improvements in working practices to eliminate waste

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
- Sales and Operations Planning process knowledge and experience, with project management experience
- Self-starter – ability to motivate, organize and coordinate self and others to provide data on time and meet monthly deadlines for updating forecast volumes
- Ability to make decisions and find workable solutions under pressure and to deadlines when different stakeholders have diverging needs
- Numerate with strong analytical skills, a good eye for detail and Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally
