Role Purpose
As a Production Technician – Injection Moulding, you will play an important role in keeping production running safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
You will be responsible for injection mould tool and product changeovers, setting machines to optimum processing conditions, production start-ups and shutdowns, basic fault finding, and process improvements. Working to defined standards and the production plan, you will help ensure targets relating to output, cost, quality, and safety are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out injection mould tool and product changeovers, ensuring changeover times meet agreed standards and production requirements.
- Set up injection moulding machines using the relevant setting sheets, process information, and machine memory data to achieve optimum processing conditions.
- Complete production start-ups and shutdowns, including the stopping and starting of automation equipment.
- Ensure first-off and last-off products meet the required visual and dimensional quality specifications.
- Carry out basic fault finding and help maintain mould tools and injection moulding machines to the required standards.
- Accurately record production information including scrap, output, downtime, tooling issues, material reconciliation, and quality data.
- Follow all agreed safe working practices and maintain high standards of housekeeping across the production environment.
- Complete effective handovers at the beginning and end of each shift to support continuity of production.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including SMED, Kaizen, and 6S activities, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Support Production Operators with packing, material movement, quality, and booking activities where required.

Key Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone with practical injection moulding experience who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience setting injection moulding machines.
- An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification as an injection moulding machine setter.
- An understanding of LOLER requirements.
- Good knowledge of injection moulding machine safety.
- A good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards within a manufacturing environment.
- The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
