Image Engineer – Vehicle Repair Specialist

If you’re passionate about technical expertise, problem-solving, and strong communication, we’d love to hear from you. We’re recruiting for four Image Engineers to join our Engineering team, based in either Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Manchester (Salford Quays).


About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Engineering and authorising vehicle repairs, aligning with manufacturer guidelines while considering all claim factors.
  • Producing detailed inspection reports and making total loss decisions for damaged or stolen vehicles.
  • Liasing with customers, repairers, and third parties to ensure claims are settled fairly and effectively.
  • Identifying fraudulent activities and advising on non-standard vehicle modifications.
  • Supporting total loss valuation handlers in settling claims for beyond-economic-repair vehicles.
  • Building strong relationships with external parties to streamline processes and reduce costs.
  • Working within set KPIs and SLAs to ensure timeliness and accuracy in claims management.

What You’ll Need

Experience & Knowledge

✅ Extensive experience in vehicle repair mechanics or bodyside work ✅ Problem-solving skills for complex customer/repairer disputes or complaints ✅ Ability to interpret client requirements and apply business policies ✅ Strong understanding of ** automobile manufacturers’ specifications** and industry standards ✅ Knowledge of relevant UK legislation (e.g., Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Data Protection Act (DPA))

Skills & Qualifications

🔧 Proficient in automotive estimate systems 📊 Strong business acumen and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently 🤝 Excellent negotiating skills for cost and delivery agreements 💬 Clear communication (both verbal and written) for stakeholders at all technical levels ⏱️ Strong organisational skills with managing deadlines and workloads 🖥 Advanced computer literacy (database, spreadsheet, and reporting tools) 💡 Willingness to learn and embrace new challenges
