MRI Imaging Department Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MRI team at University Hospitals of North Midlands as an Imaging Department Assistant on a fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be expected to work across all UHNM sites including Royal Stoke, County Hospital and the newly opened Community Diagnostic Centre.

You must be experienced in health care and/or working with the public, and be able to provide excellent patient care to the broad mix of patients we see in MRI. Your caring and approachable manner will support our patients, some of whom can be very anxious or unwell.

You will be expected to have excellent computer and administrative skills, have a polite sympathetic telephone manner and a good attention to detail.

The role will include a proportion of weekend working.

When working clinically, your efficiency and organizational skills will help us to ensure we see our patients on time. You will be required to liaise with the radiographers, ward staff, porters and patients to ensure all patients are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, ready for their examination.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
